There ya go, all done, saved space and revised the zip, because the first one I whipped up for Grip Driver in like 15 mins so he didn't have to wait for imageshack to re-link the images, plus I didn't want others to go through the same issue with that in the future. =)
For Grip: after masking off the area, don't save as (.jpg), save it as 24-bit bitmap image (.bmp), only save as .jpg after you paste the bitmap skin onto the texture.... lol, sorry, perhaps I should add that tip, because the way I do it, I mask off the area, then copy and paste it onto the texture, without saving until the skin is superimposed onto the texture, then I save as a jpg.
Bitmap doesn't compress the image when saved, so color remains exactly as it is created, but jpeg is an inter-changeable format and when saved, it is compressed and loses color quality. It's not your fault though grip, so no worries, k. =)
Sorry, I thought the issue he said was an infinite loop, lol mai bad. =X I had a Compaq that locked up on me due to my sister excessively ddosing with it, it was such a waste of an otherwise running machine.
lol, sorry, I don't understand what you mean, I heard of the hyper text markup language tags "iframes", and see them in some website's source codes, but I haven't learned about them yet. All I know is that when a website like UserPlane has them, you cannot view, edit, or save the embedded html stylesheets, but that's about it.
Is it needed? If so, I will learn how it works, and implement into the codes, but so far, I have not come across any issues regarding them. Perhaps now would be a good time for me to learn them, but my HTML-Kit developer software only has these two lines, and is not very helpful. xD
Aw man, sorry to hear that, I had the same issue before on an old computer. If it is running hot, and the HD light is on, yeah, most likely it's now a paperweight. It can happen for many reasons, most likely a process was running while the computer lost power, generated errors, and couldn't be terminated, or has items that cannot be solved. It's running hot, because that process is unfortunately consuming all your ram / cpu resources. =(
I just salvaged what I could when it happened to me, you should do the same before it does damage to your new components. Keep the cd/dvd drives, graphics chip, ram cards, if you have a wifi card get that too, but pretty much the hard drive is toast, and no matter what you replace, that HD and possibly your motherboard have already been permanently affected. Overheating alone does major damage to the circuitry.
Sorry, I know it hurts, but better to cut your losses now, and buy a new computer, just save the extra components if you need them later. I wish ya the best of luck bro. =)
lol! Thanks man, but mine are ghetto xD, I just like doing things quick, as long as it doesn't take 5 hours to make 1 skin, I'm happy, but I'll be the first to admit when it's "low quality", I got no shame... xD
=) Sorry, I just like to be different with my own color code, but a few have asked me to use black, so I am from now on, I don't want anyone to stress over it.
No sorry it's not your computer, Imageshack pulled a "photobucket", xD they are there, but sometimes the site breaks the image links, just doesn't load. I already deleted from my C:\, but as soon as they are working again, I'll add them to a zip file for anyone to download and use. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I have been able to embed numerous flash objects into various websites. Although many sites are different, the "basic" embed code placed in a module will format itself to pretty much all websites, so things like parameters, class object id's, application type, etc... you don't have to worry about it. The "completed" embed code includes the parameters and script settings included. Just copy and paste into any html module. The default size I set to 600px height by 600px width.
HTML EMBED CODE FOR "LFS REMOTE" (basic code for all websites)
Right click the mouse, and pick quality as "high", also set access to "always allow", and memory storage to "unlimited". Sometimes it takes a few seconds for the flash to load, especially if you have a lot of running processes taking up a lot of memory.
LMFAO @ people iggying yet still feel the need to comment, yet without contributing anything others can use, thus just taking up space.
My CF looks different because it was NOT generated on someone's computer, it's a picture of real cf. I prefer using actual logos / textures, created textures look too synthetic.
My screenshots are big because my screen is 1280x768, and making it smaller only makes it harder to read for other people. That is not spam @ all. I never repeat the same post.
Here's how to use MS-Paintbush to add carbon fibre body panels. This is for people that either don't have programs such as Adobe Photoshop, or Corel Draw, or just find it too damn complex, and want to do it in a simple, quick way. Just use the tools as each image describes, it's pretty straight forward.
The CF Tutorial zip file has all the steps in 1280x768 jpeg image format. (Reviised) Tutorial Zip File Download
The Default Skins zip file has default skins, and 2 CF textures in 1024x1024 jpeg format. 1024x1024 Default Skins

Reason : Revised Tutorial Zip file
quick answer:
drop 50 horsepower, and use knobbies on the front tires, with 75/25 brake biased towards the front.
extended answer:I had driven many FWD race cars, but they all suffer from the same physics, no matter if it's production or race-bred.
They all have a condition known as "terminal understeer". The only known solution to a car that has terminal understeer, is to "trail brake" the car, basically means you have to brake slightly later then a normal racecar, and enter the corner while slightly still on the brakes, forcing as much traction on the tires steering the car, and unloading the weight on the rear tires, which also assists the car's turning capacity, it also is a race physics thing, that would take time to explain.
Normal race cars have a set zone for braking. In that zone, is where both "threshold braking", (braking as hard as you can WITHOUT locking the tires up, on the threshold) and also where "heel to toe" shifts occur. For a race car, plowing is bad, as you would want the car to roll through the corner with as much speed as possible speed, that the tires will allow without losing adhesion.
Here's exactly what all FWD cars do in most situations, it's inertia + weight distribution biased more on the front tires = the car won't turn easily. Since the drive wheels are up front, they are pulling the car, even though the wheels are turned, the car still wants to pull the direction it's facing, straight in front of you. Even @ high speeds, the driver has to floor it, to maintain that speed, which only adds to the cars plowing factor.
If it where a Rear wheel drive car, the rear tires are the ones pushing the car, think of it as the rear tires want to spin faster then the front tires, since they are the ones being powered. The fastest way through any corner, is to drive the car on the verge of grip / drift, because @ that point, the rear tires are steering the car, known as "throttle drifting", and allows the car to be on the gas, exiting the corner without having to unwind the steering wheel, since it is already facing forward, and rolling.
It is that single fact alone, that is the exact definition of "practical cornering theory", there are many other factors, such as slip angles, a car's static weight as opposed to it's transfer weight, COG (center of gravity), etc... but in general, this is exactly what you would notice from a front wheel drive racecar, it's inability to turn at high speed. At least now you do know how the car reacts, I think LFS did a good job with emulating the physics, it's pretty close, just a lot faster.

Reason : changed "there are many other factors, suck as slip" to "such as" xD
Thanks! I wished for a while for many other applications, to run a server on mine, but for starters, my IP is dynamic, not to mention it's an 801bg wifi adapter... (192.168.1.Q for the loss lol).... I wont even get into my list of user permissions I set to "deny" lmfao about all I can do is client networks...
Still, all this info has been very useful, for when I do have the network resources to be able to use them, rather then sitting here, twiddling my thumbs... xD just wanted to say thanks for the tips it's greatly appreciated.
lol I agree tristan, things like radiators and air ducts wouldnt be needed since electric motors dont run on air, it would probably have huuuge heat sinks though xD I wonder which would get hotter though, a normal combustion engine, or electric motor, I'm sure the engine would get hotter, but then electricity is really hot too, when you think about it xD... kinda like which came first, the chicken or the egg
lol here's mine, some real ones though that I spent more then 15 minutes on each, not like my first ones, those where for fun since I was still moochin off the demo xD wait till you guys see what I got in mind for the Opel Calibra, and the other ToCA / BTCC style cars... ------ btw anyone can have these skins, to use, change, whatever you want to do with them, I don't mind, as long as you're having fun when using them, thats all that matters!
lol yeah I guess it does look better when I actually took the time to make it look more proportional... now if only there was a way to edit settings on the fly, so you don't have to start over from a dead stop each time xD.... I noticed lots of people on here say " don't change their skins".. xD here, EVERYONE CAN HAVE MINE, AND CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT TO THEM, I don't mind at all, as long as you have fun playing with them, is all that counts!
=========== lol this one is close to the one I drive in real life ===========
=========== I included this one in case someone likes to use it with their own logos / team colors Enjoy everyone!! ===========

THAT GUY POSTED IT 3 TIMES AT LEAST, EVEN AFTER PEOPLE SAID IT DOESN'T WORK, AND MY INTERCLUE CLEARLY SHOWED IT WAS MALICIOUS, PLEASE SOMEONE CHECK IT OUT, I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO BREAK THEIR COMPUTER CAUSE OF THIS GUY, THANKS!!!=)
DO NOT CLICK THIS LINK, DO NOT SAVE IT EITHER IF YOU HAVE IT ON YOUR COMPUTER, I SUGGEST DELETING IT, AND RUN A VIRUS SCAN

It's Moz 3.0 for sure. First day it came out, I downloaded it and within 5 minutes wanted to choke someone. If you remember the old AOL programs, like AOL Explorer, it has the same issues, with a bunch of "err 404, err 504, bad request, bad gateway, etc...
As far as not being able to log in, it can be 1 of many things...
1) check to make sure you have the LFS site on the list of "exceptions"
2) make sure java, cookies, and scripts are enabled for the LFS site
3) check that your pop-up blocker is disabled for LFS, or that LFS is not on the pop up blocker listing.
4) check "connections" and use "direct connect to internet" instead of "automatically detect network", "use proxy for sites" or "use socks4 / socks5"
5) get ABP plus add-on for mozilla (adblock plus) I bet if you can see ads, that also really affects your connection.
Opera is good, you'll never have any issues with opera, and it loads much faster, since as you scroll a website with opera, objects on the page that you scroll past are unloaded, as opposed to mozilla that keeps everything on that page loaded, as long as you're on it, and even when you aren't, Mozilla saves the page for offline use, which is also another issue.
I stick to Mozilla 2.0 myself, because it's very easy to view, save, and edit everything from html, to form submission fields, cookies, javascript, SQL's, CSS, anchor data, stylesheets, etc... I can list the things 2.0 with the Web Developer add on, can handle for days, but I won't. If you wanna stick with mozilla, get 2.0, or just get Opera's browser. Google chrome, Netscape, and IE all have their little quirks, but are all equally just as bad in the long run.
I don't like IE at all, Microsoft made the best OS, Windows, the best video games, Xbox360, and makes all this money off it, yet they put out a really crappy browser, think about it, they could have made it better, but didn't... that and the constant freezing when some script error on EVERY FRIGGIN WEBSITE, then having IE automatically redirect to MSN and automatically download things that don't work... ugh, its so aggravating.
In fact, just get opera, if you always have issues with mozilla and most websites, Opera is definitely the best browser to solve that.
Hi I'm sebby! I'm not sure exactly what part you need help with, but I'm guessing from the title of this post, it's about graphic designs right? or maybe tutorials about graphic design? =)
There are many tutorials you can find online, that don't cost anything, same thing goes for the programs that graphic designers use. Many people know of Adobe Photoshop CS3, supppsedly it is the best one, but it costs a lot of money, and is EXTREMELY complex, not to mention it can take up a lot of memory if you are making something with a lot of filters, special brushes and effects.
When you say "make a tutorial", or to "edit screenshots", what kind of editing do you need? Maybe a better question is, what is it that you want created, or edited? Do you have an example? Or can you show me what you have, and what you want done to it? (maybe resizing, layering objects on top of each other, or even creating it from scratch).
I Just finished a simple diagrahm installation guide this morning, complete with screenshots that show exactly what the people where a little confused about, perhaps you can take a look, and get an idea from it, then you can also get a general idea on how the tutorial you want would look like. =)
(note: this picture, and all the objects in it including the logo and the skin I made for the car, was 100% created in about 30 minutes, only 1 program... MSPaintbrush... I just used the CMX viewer to show the skin)
The MSWINSCK.OCX is an old school Active-X controller plug-in module, most older programs, such as EA Sports PC games from the 1990's used active-x, and can be found on most of the game cd's in that time period.
However if you still have this error code, as many people do, I put together a package for you, and also a "quick install diagrahm", that explains where each component for the AE86 Package to be installed.... Just follow the directions as stated, and displayed in the diagrahm.
You can download the OCX file, below, in the attachments on this thread. I included to make life easier, as usual... lol =)
HOW TO INSTALL ACTIVE-X MOVIE CONTROL PLUG-IN, ENTER DOS COMMANDS AS SHOWN IN IMAGE, DIRECTIONS BELOW IMAGE.
------ to register (install) mswinsck.ocx file, extract the "mswinsck.ocx" active-x controller to "C:\Windows\System" directory, make sure the OCX file is in the system directory as an object, -NOT- in a subfile in the system directory. use MS-DOS command prompt in windows explorer, the pathname to start MSDOS is:
C:\windows\system32\command.com
- or also -
C:\windows\system32\cmd.com ~ (this is a simulated version of MS-DOS but works just the same)
------ when the dos prompt appears, it will already be in the "C:\windows\system32" folder, press the following keys to register the mswinsck.ocx Active-X controller. Only type indicated in red.
C:\Windows\system32>
------ type " cd.. " ~ (this will go up one level out of "C:\Windows\system32" directory to "C:\Windows>" directory)
C:\Windows>
------ type " cd system " ~ (this will open the "C:\Windows\system" directory>
C:\Windows\system>
------ type " regsvr32.exe C:\Windows\System\mswinsck.ocx"
------- Press "enter" key, a message will appear confirming plug-in was installed successfully. =)

INSTALLATION GUIDE FOR AE86 PACKAGE COMPONENTS FOR LIVE FOR SPEED[/SIZE]
Before installing the this file into your game I recommend making a copy of the "LFSpatchZ/skin_dds" file, in case you mess it up, you wont have to re-install the entire game.
When you extract both zip components for the AE86 package, the "overchime zip" has another zip file located inside, extract that zip as well. You should have a total of 3 files, with the contents and directions to each as described below.
- AE86 x IV file - contains 5 ".jpg' files, only copy the 4 shown, to the "LFS/skins" directory, they will be automatically converted into ".dds" format.
- AE86 interior & Taillights + overspeedchime file - contains 1 additional zip file, and 6 ".dds" files, extract the zip file, and copy the 6 ".dds" files to the "LFS/skin_dds" file, as shown below.
- AE86 overspeedchime file - contains 2 files, the LFS_Overspeed_Chime.exe, and the chime.wav sound effect. Copy this folder, into the LFS game directory itself, so it makes an Overchime folder within the LFS game, as shown below. To use this module, simply click on the ".exe" file, once all components are installed.
I hope this is helpful to those who love Initial D as much as I do.
-sebby
UPDATED: lol sorry my bad guys >_<.. the chime exe goes in the LFS main file folder, and the wav goes to the sound folder... sorry for the error, Ill make another Image when I got more time
I posted this in the carbon fibre section, but ill put it here too, its easier for others to see =) the one I used is from real CF I took a picture of, I think it looks better then the smaller one, if you shrink it, it will look good still, but lose some of the quality when it gets pixelated. =( I even made the LFS loge with CF, and MORE FLAMES!!! lol
ALMS is my favorite series, I went to school @ infineon raceway a few years ago to get my SCCA / USAC national license certification. Ever since I was younger, all I wanted to drive was a porsche 962, such a beautifully shaped car, sleek lines, mid engine, and fast!!!
but I also love the P1 open prototypes, the newer ones are nice, like the audi R8C, or BMW VLMR, but my favorite is the Cadillac Northstar LMP 02, I would love to drive this car someday, as most people would lol, hopefully someday this car will be in live for speed, I would use it more then everyone else in the game combined lol i love it that much
lol nothing would be different on an electronically powered F1 car, except the power plant itself. The car's aerodynamics will still remain the same way as it is now, or as close to it as possible. It will still have front and rear valances, 4 tires, suspension, and the driver, all pretty much in the same location, but it would have a lot of batteries to deal with, since it would be designed to let the armature and commutator suck the juice down for best speed. I think the torque will be the biggest issue, normal combustion engines work a certain way, while electric motors work another way, but thats the only thing that would be different, the car still needs to retain it's downforce and if they alter the body, it wont work as well... lol most of the downforce actually comes from below the car, from the undertray, it acts like a giant inverted wing, in addition to the valances. =) I think they will make cars run on hydrogen, or propane assisted gas, even some cars can run off LNG (liquid natural gas), but no matter what is used in the future, we will still accelerate, corner, shift, and threshold brake the car just the same way.
